Clinical Engineering

Clinical engineering is a branch of biomedical engineering dealing with the actual implementation of medical equipment and technologies in hospitals or other clinical settings. While it may not be an area of science research that would qualify for a wet lab incubator, it definitely fits at a life science incubator. And there’s lots of room at business incubators for business involved in this type of work. Major roles of clinical engineers include training and supervising biomedical equipment technicians, selecting technological products or services while managing their implementation, working with governmental regulators on inspections, and serving as technological consultants for other hospital staff.
