Job Opportunities Are Shrinking, But Other Options Are Available
The opportunity for jobs in Las Vegas, Nevada has dwindled sharply in recent months. During February, Nevada’s unemployment rate was 10.1 percent, well above the national average. Unfortunately, Nevada is not alone in this crisis. Many states across the country are facing similar unemployment numbers because of the economic recession. States are watching their unemployment increase while jobs are decreasing. This is especially true for the hardest hit industries such as the financial sector and construction. Unless people who previously worked in construction can qualify for training that leads to another job, it may be hard for them to successfully find employment in their field.
