Maintain the miniaturization of a bonsai tree
15 December 2009
While houseplants need to be “up-potted”, that is, placed in larger and larger containers, we maintain the miniaturization of a bonsai tree by keeping the roots confined to the small container. All potted plants will eventually outgrow their containers. How often should I re-pot my bonsai tree. A plastic screen should also be used to cover the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot to prevent bugs from getting through and the bonsai tree for sale soil from washing out of the pot. This can be done if your trim a bonsai at the roots, although it is necessary that you leave two-thirds of its original size. In the next few weeks make sure that you remove most of the soil. Remove leaves with fine scissors, cutting them from directly behind the leaf.
