Secrets in Mormonism
29 October 2009
There are all sorts of reasons why people call us a mormon cult, but I don’t think any of them have an validity. One argument I’ve seen is that people think our temple ceremony is so secret, that makes us cultish. It’s not a secret. It’s sacred. Anyone can join the church and make themselves worthy and we don’t even talk about certain aspects with other members when we’re not in the temple. People seem to have this sense of entitlement that they have to know every aspect of other people’s lives. I’m sticking by my opinion that calling us a mormon cult is silly.
