Affordable Health Insurance Provides Security For Americans
There is no doubt that affordable health insurance is a true “hot button” issue not only in American politics, but in most households. Everyone has an opinion, yet realistic solutions are not as forthcoming. Employer paid health insurance used to be as routine as gold watches for lifetime employment, but neither is guaranteed any longer. Among the areas of health insurance that create the most controversy are coverage for pre-existing conditions, whether people who are not US citizens (and/or in the United States legally) are entitled to subsidized health insurance and care and how surgical procedures, from abortion to elective plastic surgery, should be addressed. Because so many factors are involved, any health care bill passed by both houses of Congress and signed by the President will be watered-down and a compromise. But, any steps toward more-accessible health care are a good start toward providing more financial and emotional security for Americans.
