Unique Antique Collections OF Door Knobs

In the previous century antique door knobs have gone through a number of character and design changes. Rather than just being something used to open and close a door, door knobs back then were quite as much part of the house as the remainder of the dcor, and were predicted to make a statement. For a bit the job was banished often to glass artists who made stunning bubble glass knobs, lead crystal cut into jewel-like shapes, as well as wonderful pieces of brass that were carved into highly baroque patterns. As time went on, styles of knobs came and went, which was only in more contemporary times the door knobs we used seemed to become a bit more dull, and just looked at as things that are designed to open a door. But the genuine cash appears to be in the door handles that were actually from that time.
