Fans remember Gordon Banks’ jaw-dropping save from Pele’s goal-bound header was both so spectacular that it rendered fans speechless and is now commonly referred to as the ‘save of the century’. The match is also remembered for captain Bobby Moore’s perfectly-timed tackles, including one phenomenal challenge on Jairzinho as the Brazilian winger burst into the penalty area. Despite the heroics of Moore and Banks, England eventually lost the game 1-0, and Brazil went on to win the World Cup for the third time.
