Implementing Network Management into your Busienss

Network Management refers to the activities, methods, procedures and tools that relate to the operation, administration and provisioning of networked systems.

Operation – this deals with keeping the network (and the included services that the network provides) up and running smoothly. It also includes monitoring the network to spot problems as soon as possible, ideally before any user or users are affected.
Administration – this deals with keeping track of resources in the network and how they are assigned. This includes all the “housekeeping” necessary to keep the network under control.
Maintenance – this is concerned with performing repairs and doing upgrades like when an equipment needs to be replaced, when a router needs a patch for an operating system image or when a new switch is added to a network. It also involves corrective and preventive measures to make the managed network run better, like when adjusting the device configuration parameters.
